Anyone else catch Stephen Colbert singing the Neil Young part with CSN on Colbert last night for "Teach your Children".

I found the whole segment touching. Of course, Stephen is a liberal getting his point across by playing a conservative. So it was nice to see him step out of character and out of costume to sing one song with Crosby, Stills and Nash (and starring Stephen Colbert as Neil Young:)).

Saw it, and thought the interview was hysterical.

Oh yeah, the interview was a riot also. Colbert asking about changing the stationary back and forth and then saying gee isn't that song in four part harmony.:)

I've replayed it about six times now. Stephen C carries his own because he can sing. It wasn't just letting any comedian on stage to sing as a joke. It was an actual performance of the song.

Stephen, out of his "costume" of suit/tie and without his glasses, looked so young. And a bit in awe of the others.

I looked up all the ages and indeed, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young are all old enough to be Stephen's father.

Loved the hat:).

I always forget how much I like CSN.

I'm not a musician or singer so I am curious how much rehearsal time would have been necessary. Colbert didn't have on his glasses but he may have had on contacts, IF there was a teleprompter with the lyrics. I think he didn't need a teleprompter. Also I note he wasn't playing a guitar although he does play guitar. Maybe they didn't need an extra guitar as the other three were all playing.
