Any reason to upgrade my D*Tivo with newer Zipper?

I hacked and zippered my D*Tivo ''about'' the same time it first came out. Is there any reason for me to upgrade it now? It works fine, no problems at all, and I can pull movies from my computer (through Tserver). The only thing I wish I could do is hook an external hard drive to it (did a search didn't find anything about that) so I wouldn't have to copy movies over wireless.

I do have one problem though. Every once in a while, it gets stuck in a reboot loop after rebooting at night, and I have to pull the plug, then it's fine. It may happen once a month, maybe twice, so no big deal.

Why fix what works?
As far as the reboots, it is possible that the drive maybe going out. If your on 6.2a, it is rock solid and very few problems.

Is it just rebooting? Do you have any picture problems? It might not be the drive; I had a problem with a corrupted showcase that caused the same issue. There's a thread at THEFORUMTHATMUSTNOTBENAMED:

Also, I can't imagine why you couldn't mount an external drive from a series 2. You wouldn't be able to use it for recordings but it might work for network-atttached storage.
