Just curious if anyone recorded this and if you can tell me what category it was listed as?

I want to set up a wishlist that will catch stuff like this but what I have is hit or miss. And this was a miss. I have a wishlist for Sports: Martial Arts (minus some keywords) but it did not catch the Elite XC event. Maybe if Mixed Martial Arts was a category I might not miss things like this.

Does anyone else have a wishlist for Mixed Martial Arts that works really well?

I just had it setup by title and set it up to record the series.

I recorded it. Will check it out and let you know tonight. I have DirecTiVos and a DirecTV HD DVR though. Might be different than what you would see.

I have all sorts of WL so I don't miss stuff. MMA, UFC, cagefighting, WEC, EliteXC, Affliction, etc.

If you need the event I can hook you up.

I had an ARWL for MMA but had to turn it off because it was picking up TOO MUCH. It may have just been for the UFC, I'm not sure. I'll have to check when I get home from work and let you know.

Thanks for the replies. Clutch, I don't need to see it that badly. I'm just a little frustrated that it didn't pick it up. Although, I didn't check my suggestions. It's possible that it could have caught it. The wishlist I have now, picked up practically every WEC show, World Combat League, Kickboxing, TapOut, and various movies and other non-MMA shows. It does not catch IFL. I used the keywords to trim those down so it's not recording all of that stuff.

WhiskeyTango, I have a separate WL set up for UFC things. It was a lot easier using wildcards and the ( ) and - options for the Title field. AFAK, it catches everything that has UFC or Ultimate Figh* in the title.

That's not a problem anymore, unfortunately. :(

True. I wasn't wild about it anyway. I prefer my MMA in a cage.

Absolutely on the cage comment.

They had a number of good fighters in the organization though. Luckily they are being picked up elsewhere.

I would have liked to have seen Schultz in the UFC but he will definitely find some good match-ups in Sengoku.

Not sure where Horodecki will end up. I'd love for it to be a cage though. Not that I didn't like the kid but his habit of diving/crawling through the ropes to escape anytime he was remotely in trouble was VERY frustrating. Try that in a cage. :)

According to the guide data that is still on the TiVo, it's listed as "Sports Event"

Clutch, that's the main reason that I dislike the ring vs cage. The fighters can find an easy way out of a tough spot. Well, that and the ref or people outside the ring (Pride mostly) always trying to move the ropes when the fighters are against them. Either leave the friggin' ropes alone and let them fight or make them break the hold and start back in the center.

Amen. I always hated the outside interference in the ring in Pride.

In one of the prelim bouts Bryan Caraway's pre-fight matchup graphic said his fighting style was 'Cowboy Karate' . Thats pretty funny.

Several guys have funny ones like that. I've seen Cowboy Karate, Thug-jitsu (Yves Edwards, I think), Skull Crackin', etc. Used to see a lot of funny ones in Bodog Fight (shudder...).

haha, So the fighters are just filling them out however they want. I thought that was a legitimate fighting style for a second.
