Any lines on promising new shows for the fall?
This time of year there is usually excitement generate for the new fall shows.
I have seen nothing so far, but I think I am just missing it.
Its getting to be as though soon fall will not be synonymous with new shows, huh?

There aren't as many new pilots this year as in years past because of the writers strike. Mostly just the same shows coming back with a couple of new ones.

Right, the writer's strike, I almost forgot....thanks.

What's that one that has a guy that lives two lives, one as an ordinary guy and the other as a spy? Looks like it's based on True Lies or something?

I think it may be a BBOS, but may be worth a look.

Fringe is the only one that comes close to "must-see" status so far.

I have hopes for the next seasons of Heroes, 24, and Prison Break.

It seems that there aren't many new shows debuting this fall, as many of the networks are now utilizing the 24/Lost model and saving their shows until January to be run straight through.

Chuck? Not based on True Lies. That one has had a season already, and it is actually pretty good :) Unless there is another show coming out with the exact same premise.....which wouldn't surprise me one bit....

Someone said My Own Worst Enemy. I think that's it. It stars Christian Slater.

No, I watch Chuck - in fact, I still have the season finale on the DVR unwatched.

This is a new show - more drama than comedy - and it IS MY Own Worst Enemy.

I just watched the trailer on NBC.com and it may be VERY corny. Time will tell.

Second season of Eli Stone starts Monday, October 14. ABC has been rerunning season one on Saturday night.

And they moved it right behind Dancing with the stars!:)

Hey, when is the DWTS cast going to be announced?

The twist in MOWE is that the protaganist has two alter egos... a guy with a normal day job and a boring suburban life, but he sometimes turns into a guy who's a cut throat spy operative. Neither personality knows about the other (which will presumably be explained in the show), but both are slowly starting to figure out that the other exists.

Oh, and I imagine you can also look forward to at least a few idiotic, "BIH"-inducing cancellations of some good new shows. ;)

I'm personally looking forward to FX's Sons of Anarchy. I caught some teasers while watching FX and it looks like it's about a biker gang, which is pretty cool. FX has a great history with badass shows (Nip/tuck and The Shield) so I'll definitely check this out.

It premieres on September 3rd:

"Burn in Hell"

What does BIH-inducing mean?
Those cancellations that induce an immediate "Burn in Hell (insert network here - ahem... FOX!)" response.

I'm hoping for decent things from FX's Sons of Anarchy.I'm to the point of expecting good things from FX. It's a production of Kurt Sutter, who worked on the Shield. We've all seen the Shield and know it's pedigree of quality and I think Sons of Anarchy is going to be the same type of experience. I want t a gritty show about a group of motorcycle gangs, just like the Shield is a gritty look at cops from the inside out.
