View Full Version : Is it possible to view the To-Do list over the web?

Is there any way to view the To-Do list with a Series3 Tivo HD? My wife has a little bit of OCD and feels the need to go through some sort of ritual using the ToDo and the guide everynight before stuff starts recording. This is annoying to me. :)

It's nice that I can see the Now playing list off of the Tivo directly and that I can set new stuff to record online but how do I see the To-Do list? Is there another URL that I can use to see that?

Any help would be appreciated!

Nope, no way to see it except on the TiVo.

Not without modifications to your unit.

What a handy missing feature. It seems kind of odd that it can detect conflicts via the web but we can't directly access it.

How "modded" does it have to be to do it? Do you have a link to the software that will allow this?

The boot prom has to be replaced with one that has modified code on it.

Do a google search for "Deals Freebies TiVo PROM Modification"

Once that prom has been replaced, then many of the hacks that are available on Series 2 boxes can be done on your Series 3.

I have my TiVo HD hacked where I can run TivoWebPlus and get to it remotely.

Easy alternative to web based checking: Slingbox. Slingbox AV can be found for ~ $100 these days and allows full remote control of your Tivo including viewing, To Do List checking, show scheduling or anything else you can do when sitting in front of your Tivo at home. Beats the pants off Tivo's web based remote scheduling capability.

I concur with the previous poster. Slingbox + Tivo are a great combination.

I second the slingbox option...what a dream...and a laptop with anywhere internet access is even better. I bring the kids to the park and can catch up on what ever I need...and program what ever I would like to...anywhere I am...

Thanks, I will never waste my time setting it up if you can't see TO DO list, that is nuts. Why would you ever need to see NOW PLAYING? Just so you can be mad something did not record? Its the to-do you would want, to see if all you want is set to record and to delete unwanted stuff.... this amazes me. I agree the slingbox would be the way to go then.

Back on the Series 1 when I replaced my hard drive, I added a web admin feature that enabled me to login to my TiVo, see and modify season passes, and every other screen that was available as well as a web remote that allowed control over the box. God I miss that lil box...

how long you had tivo?

if it's only been a short time- maybe she will learn over time that it just works and she'll relax?

Why would you ever need to see NOW PLAYING?

The reason you can see it, is because you can download shows using that page's links... (although it is painfully slow across the internet)

Another +1 for Tivo + SlingBox.

I've had a Tivo for a long time, and know it *does* 'just work', but I'd use this capability too.. to check whether there was something 'unexpected' going to record to take up a whole bunch of disk space. I realize I likely couldn't do anything about it, but if I could check before I go out, I would.

Yes, I live 'near the edge' of the disk being full lots of the time... it's too painful to keep TOO MUCH stuff as keep until I delete, otherwise I would keep EVERYTHING as keep until I delete.
