Recording part of a show

I have a Humax Tivo Series 2 DVD recorder and sometimes I'd like to record PART OF a program. Can that be done? I thought if I got to a part of a recording I wanted to copy to DVD, I could start recording there but I don't see a way to do that. Is there a way to do that? Thanks!!

Thanks!!!!!! lol I see though, I didn't word question correctly.
When I have already recorded a show to Tivo and it's in my Tivo 'library' I call it, and I wish I could save PART of that show to DVD, can I do that?
For example, I recorded several America's Got Talent shows. On each one the last act is is always the best and there are two performances I'd really like to record to keep but when I go to save to DVD, it just seems to give option to save whole show. Is there a way to save to DVD, just part of a show I have recorded by Tivo.
I'd like to make a DVD of parts of different shows...kind of my favorite parts of show or performances.

With "Save to VCR" you can obviously do that, but when saving to DVD you only have the option to save the entire thing. And unfortunately, since the DVD units won't burn material that didn't originate on the box, you can't use the MRV trick to "edit" the recording before burning it.

If you've got TiVo Plus, just use TiVo Desktop to download the show to your PC, then edit it and burn it to DVD.
