Anyone watching this? My daughter and her friends (15/16 year olds) are hooked on it. Basic premise is a 15 year old gets pregnant the first time she has sex with the school 'bad boy' at band camp in the summer and the story follows her / her friends dealing with that and other relationship/happenings at her high school.
Molly Ringwald (16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, BC, etc.), John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard) and Josie Bissett (Melose Place) are some of the parents, so I recognize some of the actors.
I watched the first 2-1/2 episodes, but some overly pedantic line of dialogue (something about "I hope she's seeing her doctor and taking prenatal vitamins" out of the mouth of a random teenage boy) drove me to erase the episode and cancel my season pass.

lol, yeah, some of the stuff is cringe-worthy for sure. the last episode was actually kind of comical.

I have been watching it. What is good about this show is that some of the things that come out of these teenagers mouths really are spoken today. It is kinda of sad when you think about how naive they can be. Not that you want them to be grown up, but more how the lack of education of sex and so forth is.
As a nanny to teenagers it is good this is out there. It is combating some of the myths teens have. It is encourgaing them to talk to their parents etc. Well we know that Amy hasn't told her parents yet, but it is coming.
Now the whole thing with Grace and her parents ruling her life with the "promise" ring etc seems a little over the top to me, but I am sure there are families out there.

The school "bad boy" was at band camp? What kind of wussy school is this?

Well Ricky (the guy at the band camp) was the drummer, which automatically makes him cooler, duh. ;) In all honesty, I liked that the cool dude was also in band... it broke the stereotype juuust a little.
This show is coming back tonight! They had a marathon of the episodes yesterday and I noticed a lot of things I'd forgotten, so I'm pretty psyched for the new episodes tonight. Anyone else watching this show?

I love it too! It cracks me up how innocent some of the kids are in their thinking. It is sad though that I am sure they are a decent size replica of the real world.
I thought it was so cute when all their friends showed up for the wedding. LOL
Next week looks interesting. What is going on with Ricky!

I really liked this week's episode... I thought it was sweet when Jack confessed to the IDs, though I think he could've done something better with his time in terms of charity work!
I soooo felt for the mother, Molly Ringwald's character, when Grace's dad let slip that Amy and Ben had gotten married. I feel so bad for her! She would've wanted to know... especially after all that about talking to her daughters about everything!

I started watching because i wanted to see what grown up Molly looked like. And funny to see some of the kids are really older. Adrian is 20...but the preg girls sis is only 15 and amy is 17 so at least thats 'real' lol
Not that it would get me to watch, but Secret Life outdrew the other more well known teen demo hit Gossip Girl on the CW network last ratings period.

Did anybody miss that you could be fined $250 for having a fake ID?
I watch the show more for the eye candy than the strylines, but have to laugh an awful lot whenever the Hamptonisms occur. It's so sad how she couldn't come up with realistic sounding dialog if her life depended upon it.

you forgot the community service. And i thought moms lines to daughter were very good and appropriate and made her realize the reality of the situation

I liked the mom's speech to Amy in that episode too. I also like the talk they had at the end of this week's episode. But how CREEPY is Ricky's dad?? He makes my skin crawl, eugh! I can't wait to see how Ricky handles it though, it seems like somewhere under all that bad boy stuff is a good guy trying to get out. Next week's episode looks intense...

this weeks ep is probably worthy of its own thread..but lets just say i'm glad a certain kid got put in her place and the brenda hamptonizm is alive and well in the show. This is a much better show than 7th heaven from that perspective..either she got more polished or else im just more tolerant
is ricky really that cute and studly (i guess i need to ask a teen girl)

im behind 2 eps but am really enjoying this more than 7th heaven..she modernized her points while trying to stay 'hip' instead of the campy way she pushed her messages in 7th heaven
but the incest story is still a bit icky for me

Does anyone still watch this show? I know it's pretty cheesy, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine!
Last night's episode was so sad, and I thought the actress that plays Adrian did a wonderful job. I had read some spoilers as to what would happen, but the last 10 minutes of this episode had me bawling my eyes out. Just curious if anyone else still watches it and what they thought of last night's episode (aired 6/6, ... Or Not to Be).

i used to be most annoyed by amy but ben has taken over 1st place...you can just see the 7th heaven type statements made all the time in the show but sometimes it's not so forced. and i miss ashley...she was barely in it at all this year. is she doing something else.
henry and the new redhead def should get married..everyone else is doing it
