View Full Version : TiVo thinks it is not enabled for downloads

For some reason today my TiVo thinks it is no longer enabled for downloads.

My TiVo account has all of my boxes enabled for downloads, and I received 9.4 on my Series 3 box last week (in fact I went to YouTube on Friday to check out the functionality). I regularly download Unbox stuff.

Has anyone else encountered this over the last few days? Curious if it is my box or more of a system-wide issue.

Thanks!

Maybe give it a day or so to realize it is enabled for downloads. Maybe it lost this info in the update. You could try forcing a connection or two, but still maybe it's just a matter of time for reactivation from the Tivo server.

Nothing has changed on my TiVo account online, and I forced a connection, but no luck yet - I'll check it tomorrow...

You could also try disabling downloads on the TiVo.com account, force a few calls, then re-enable it and force a few more calls.

This is something that I had to do looonnng ago, and it did the trick for me.

I had this problem years ago for weeks, and what solved it for me was unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging it back in.

I had the same thing last night. Restarting the router fixed it.

I've got the same problem. Talk about frustrating! I just forced a call but if that doesn't fix it, I'll try the 'disable, force calls, enable force calls' trick. *crosses fingers*

Go to online account management. Disable downloading. Log out of account. Log back in...enable downloading. Go to tivo and force a connection.

All is good upon restart.

At least that's what worked for me

I saw it as well last week. Logged into tivo.com account and disabled then enabled downloads. Next day my HD was back to normal.

Happened to me too a few days ago, it has to have something to do with 9.4 as all was well before that. Disabling then Enabling on tivo.com did the trick for me though.

This has been happening to me on and off as well for months. What usually gets it working again for me is accessing the other features that require a net connection. Swivel search, music streaming, once one works usually the other features will start to work again. If nothing gets it working again a TiVo restart usually does the trick for me.

I had this same problem with one of my boxes when 9.4 was loaded. I just went to my Account at the TiVo website and disabled downloads and saved it. Then I enabled downloads and saved it for that box. The next night it was working.
My other boxes did not have this problem so I don't know what caused it.

Well I spoke too soon, it's back again. Less than a week after I got it working, it's now saying downloads are disabled again.

Tivo, if you're listening, please fix this on your servers ASAP. It's really aggravating now that YouTube has been added. I enjoy watching downloading and watching videos as well.

Can you use Amazon Unbox?

No, and I tried accessing swivel search to see if that would get it working (without success). The only thing that seems to fix it for a while is the tivo.com account change, which leads me to think they've got a server issue with the download setting.

Happened to me too but the next morning it was working again.

The problem started when I got 9.4

And the same for me - I made no change to my tivo.com account this time, and my HD now mysteriously is able to download videos after I got home from work today. Go figure.

If you encounter this issue, please send me the following via PM:
TSN
Date you noticed the issue
What app you were trying to use that generated the message

If you have already toggled the download setting online, and the issue recurred, please include both of these dates in your message.

I will temporarily enable diagnostic logging as a part of my investigation.

After the update my series 3 HD Tivo stopped receiving Amazon unbox downloads. Amazon's system shows the videos have been downloaded and are not available for use with any other device.
Sunday evening (before update) my Tivo received six episodes of a series.
On Tuesday (after update) it stopped working.

I've checked all settings, cold start, reset routers, called tech support, did the "disable and re-enable" trick on Tivo website. No joy.

My series 2 Tivo can download from Amazon without a problem. Just received four unbox videos 30 minutes ago. The same videos that are in download limbo for the series 3.

This is the first time I've had this trouble.

Well, I guess my TiVo's no longer special in not having YouTube if everyone else has issues...
