I previously had a problem with Transferring .MPG movies to my Tivo HD. Was simply renaming the .VOb files as .MPG. Transferring worked fine as long as I split the big file into 2GB chunks.

With 2.6.2, I can now transfer large files without spitting into multiple files.

Thanks Tivo!!

Me too! I didn't know that 2.6.2 was supposed to fix that. Neat.

So theoretically, I could disconnect my eSATA drive, since it was the cause of some flakiness with straight-line recording on my S3. However, I haven't had THAT problem recently either. Hmmm.

Why would you need to split the file in 2 gig parts? I just uploaded a 3 gig hdtv mpeg2 made from a .tivo. file. The only problem i had was the blue led turned off but tivo hd was still downloading the file.

also 2.6.2 does not slow my computer down:)

Previously, for some reason...I could indeed transfer >2GB .tivo files, but any .MPG file (created from a VOB) over 2GB crashed my Tivo and forced a reboot.

Splitting into 2GB chunks is a workaround I no longer have to worry about.
