I think this is different than what others have posted.
I have an HD-TiVo. I started to watch some movies I had recorded from Turner Classic Movies. They would all start, then the video would freeze but the sound would continue, then it would stop entirely. I was able to download a movie to my MacBook and the movie ran just fine, so the content was there.
I then tried TCM live (something I almost never do) and I saw that it too was frozen. So, I took the next logical step and rebooted the TiVo. Once that was done TCM live was fine and I could record and playback a movie.
OK, that was good, but here is the strange part. I went back to the old recordings which previously would freeze up and now they would play just fine. A strange tangled web. Has anyone seen this before? Any thoughts on why there is a link between frozen live and frozen recordings.
