Doing spring cleaning (in summer), and I'm looking to get rid of some rarely used stuff. Before I sell off this tivo, I'm hoping to find out if it is a special model for any reason.

32 hour capacity
3.0 software
activated 12/31/2000.

Thanks.

Check with Tivo - you many qualify for the free transfer of lifetime service to a newer unit.
Lifetime had to be purchased on or before sometime around January, 2001 to qualify.

IIRC - the Sony SVR2000 came to market too late to take advantage of the grandfather transfer clause. The TiVo must have been activated with lifetime before January 21, 2000.

As far as special, there's nothing special about it, but it is a nice machine. I had one as my first TiVo, and kept it for about 4 or 5 years before selling it (with Lifetime). S1's like these have the ability to retain manual recording after the subscription expires, but it's moot with the OP's unit since it has Lifetime.

As it has the original drive, I'm not sure how much the OP would get for it, but I personally would hang on to it to use towards any future Lifetime transfer offers. Just make sure it phones home every now and again to make sure TiVo knows it's still alive.

Oops, sorry about the previous incorrect date, the January 2001 date was mentioned in a post about the transition to digital OTA
