I have a Tivo Series 2 DT. I live in central New Jersey and I have FIOS Tv. FIOS has gone all digital in my area. The issue with this Series 2 DT is it works on the premises that you can record one analog and one digital now that FIOS has gone all digital the Series 2 DT has become obsolete as a dual tuner. The reason being is the Tivo is seeing all channels as cable box channels with this being the case only one tuner will work. That sucks…

lol! Cable that bad?
A THD or S3 could be another solution, not to mention you could get those cableCARD things and eliminate the need for that STB unless you want VOD.

I have an HDTivo in my living room. I guess I could try and talk the wife into letting me upgrading the TV and get another HDTivo. :) Not holding my breath though!! LOL!!

EVERYTHING made by man.... Especially ANYTHING electronic has BUILT-IN obsolescence.
Maybe it's time to finanly upgrade to HD, TV & TiVo.

I was able to convince mine by saying... No upgrade no TV to watch.
Convinced mine that the "upgrade" box was a waste of money. (Which it is).

Since that machine has 2 tuners you can schedule SD recordings and MRV them on the S2 - provided you don't conflict with the little woman's Season passes :D That's what I do.
