View Full Version : Trouble getting Youtube to work
I've got the 9.4 software and can get to the You tube screen. I can see and search all the titles, but whenever I select one, the only thing that happens is that I get the green "show duration" line at the bottom, with a pause icon at zero. Nothing plays. Pushing the Play button just toggles the duration line on and off.
The duration line itself is not always correct - on a few shorter (<2 minutes) items it showed the correct program length (though always in total seconds, not minutes and seconds), but on anything longer it shows the duration as just a few seconds.
Any thoughts on what's happening?

Any network congestion? The few i tried last night had the whole video downloaded in 5 to 20 seconds. But I'm also on a 50mbs connection.
I'm on a home DSL network that only runs at 1 - 2 Mbps. But my understanding was that Youtube (on PC or TiVo) is a streaming service, not a download service. And I have no trouble viewing Youtube clips on my PC on the same home network.

Mine said wait until August 1st. ?They really mean "wait until 9.4". Which implies 9.4 by August 1st...

And are you successfully getting streaming YouTube video?

Have you tried telling your Tivo to restart a second time since the update? Maybe it's just a networking config glitch that will work itself out on the next clean DHCP attempt on reboot.

Only on the PC, Tivo says wait.
Update: it now works fine. I didn't do anything, one day it didn't work and the next day it did. Go figure.
