View Full Version : Series 2 TIVO - No front light, no menu system

I have a series 2 TIVO DVR, model TCD24008A. It is over 3 years old. All of a sudden the light on the front went out, as well as the menu display. However, I can still see this TIVO on the TIVO downstairs, and still move programs that it is still actively recording onto the TIVO downstairs. I changed the batteries in the remote control to new ones, no effect. No light ever comes on, on the front, even if it is recording. I can still run the cable through it, and it displays on the screen just fine. I just cannot get to the TIVO menu at all.
What could be the issue here?

Is the Tivo in standby?
Pressing the Tivo button on the remote will take care of that.

Pressing the Tivo button on the remote will take care of that.
Also try resetting the remote control to remote address 0 (press and hold the "Tivo" and "Pause" buttons until the red LED on the remote stays on, then press "0" ).

I tried these things, didn't work. Thanks for the suggestions. Do you think that the power supply could be partially out? Maybe the part that powers certain things?
