I have a Series 2 DT and I noticed that some shows are duplicated within the Season Pass. By duplication I mean there are at least two scheduled shows listed that have the same time, channel, etc. If they are set to record they have purple checks in the circle next to them. However, if I change something like the start or end times, the circle with the check changes to yellow. Very strange.

Do you have two season passes set up? One for the "cbl" channel and one for the "box" channel?

When you change the parameters of a SP recording, it no longer belongs to the SP and becomes a one off recording.

Is that something that the Series 2 is capable of because if that's the case I had no idea. Where would I have to go to fix it? I assume it's in Settings somewhere?

On a series 2, dual tuner, with a cablebox, you officially have two program sources. In your channel list, you will see channels with "box" and channels with "cbl". The box channels are when tivo controls your cablebox to change channels and gets the program via the RCA cables. The cbl channels are when tivo tunes to the channel with it's internal tuner and gets the program via the coax cable connected directly to the box.

It is possible to set up two season passes for the same program if it is on more than one channel.

In my case, channel 61 is sci-fi. I have a season pass for Stargate Atlantis for channel 61 cbl. My 61 box is unchecked in the channel list.

I asked if you had more than one season pass, because it is POSSIBLE, that you could have both the cbl channel & the box channel checked. IF that was the case, you could have set up season passed for both versions of the channel. IF both season passes were set to get all episodes with duplicates, then both season passes would kick in.

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but if I were you I'd double check your channel list in the setup menu. Make sure the only "box" channels you have checked are the ones that you can not get without a box (ie: hbo)
Second, I'd check the season pass manager and verify that you do not have duplicate season passes.

good luck, let us know if you figure out what happened.

GREAT! :) Thanks for the clarification and explanation on that! I know for a fact that I don't have duplicate Season Passes and aside from some of the lower band channels having both boxes checked, everything gets recorded through the digital cable box. I'm still going to try out your advice tonight and will post my results.
