View Full Version : Tivo 1 issues getting program call to succeed

Hi,

I have a Sony Tivo series 1. It worked perfectly for over 2 years with vonage phone line (voip)
unfortunately, this week the daily calls have been failing so I tried to reset the programming all together and now I am stuck at the Program call (20-30 minutes ) screen.
called Tivo but I don't have the tivo tag number (or whatever it is called) it is a 13 digits number that should be in the tag in the back but is not.
Called Vonage, they blame comcast my internet provider.
Called COmcast they blame vonage.
Go figure!!!

so here is what happens:
Call dialing> fails couldn't connect
or
Call dialing > service not available.
or
Call dialing > Downloading> and then download fails.

It has driven me nuts all day.

Does anyone knows how to reset the sony Tivo to a point where I can access my Messages and setup>System info to get the Tivo serial number????

PLEASE HELP I must have made 3000 calls and I am stuck in a screen :confused:

You could try slowing down the modem by using a dialing prefix like ,#019 or even slower with ,#096

Don't forget the comma.

Thanks for the Comma I wasn't doing that. Giving it a try now!!! this is insane.

worked just fine for almost 3 years :cry

This is crazy I was able to get the call through with ,#019 but it failed *AGAIN* the download!!! trying 096 now...

If only I could get back to the main screen I'd be happy.
