I have two TiVo's and I can see the one in the other room at the bottom of the now playing list. Can i view recordings from the one in the other room?

Go to Manage My Account at tivo.com and check "Transfers Enabled". Sometimes it takes up to 3 days for the website to synch up with your boxes. Also, both tivos must have the same Media Access Key (MAK) which they should have provided they are on the same account.

Provided both of your TiVos are Series 2, Series 3 or TiVoHD you will be able to transfer shows between TiVo's - with the general exception that you cannot transfer an HD program to a Series 2.

You should be able to see the other TiVo at the bottom of each of the TiVo's NPL.

The OP's Tivos have the same mak and transfers enabled if a Tivo is showing up on another's NPL. It couldn't happen if that were not the case.
Because everything is already set up for it, the answer to the OP's question is simply - yes, but I'd assume that by now the OP has already clicked on it and found a list of recordings on the other Tivo and then clicked on a recording to see what would happen.

Why do you think the TiVo's have to be the same make in order for the TiVo to show on the other NPL? I have a TiVo branded 540 as well as a Sony SVR-3000 and I can view/transfer between them. I have never read that MRV requires the same brand TiVo.

I assume the OP does not know about MRV, thus my response. If the OP did as you "assume" then there would be no reason for the OP to start this thread.

Even when you remove the fact that it was a typo, I didn't say that they have to be the same make.
make was a typo. Should be mak or MAK

MAK = Media Access Key. You can check it in the Messages & Settings/Account & System Information menu

Makes a lot more sense to me now. :)
