Need help to program Tivo remote to Toshiba TV

Hi, I'm totally new to Tivo. Just received a Phillips HDR212 Tivo box (Series 1? The kind with the lifetime subscription, used obviously), and I'm trying to get the remote to work (power, volume, mute) with my Toshiba 14AF45 tv.

I tried all of the codes that Tivo suggested when I went through setup, and a few others, but none worked. (the codes I tried: 0233, 0013, 0021, 0035, 0042, 0052, 0063, 0092, 0129, 0142, 0146, 0175, 0178, 0179, 0226, 2216, 0156, 0756.)

Any suggestions? I started performing a code search, but after about 10 minutes with no results, I gave up. Also, the code search directions that I found online said they were only for tivo manufactured DVRs, whereas mine is Phillips.

I'd really like to get the remote to work with my tv. Can anyone help me?

Try resetting remote first:

1. press and hold TIVO & TV POWER until the light remains on
2. press thumbs Down 3 times
3. press ENTER, the key on the bottom row of the remote

now reenter the toshiba codes, try the these additional; LG codes too, 0011, 0128.

It doesn't matter what the brand is on the receiver, they all use the same remote, so the instructions work on all tivo peanut remotes.
