drive full

I have a S2 expanded single 320gb drive that is full and now "locked" up.
Is there a way to use a Linux boot disk and possibly delete some shows to free up space? What would I be looking for?

320gb drive is a year old. If I replace with the original 80gb stock drive the tivo boots fine...

Not if you want to keep other recordings. The TiVo needs to run with that drive to delete programs. If it doesn't boot, it has other problems.
