I like Petroza for the win... While Christina did do a good job of winning 3 reward challenges in a row, I do question her experience for being the head chef at one of Ramsey's restaurants...
I also love Petroza's attitude and demeanor...
My favorite scene in this episode was when Ramsey broke the plate on the floor while coaching Cory and Petroza said "Wow...I didn't get to break a plate...ehwh!" :D

"winning 3 reward challenges in a row" - This is proof Ramsey wants to sleep with her. She's just not that good. Cory got ripped off big time. I also like Petroza for the win.

in 'real life' is being a good chef really about yelling like that? He absolutely indicated that on this show but i cant believe people would respect someone like that

So you've tasted her food then?
I disagree that Cory got ripped off, while her sauce may have been perfect, she got the wrong meat! That's pretty damn important. Ramsay said Petrozza would have won, but he completely forgot the puree.
In a completely frivolous rant: Last night, Hell's Kitchen continued the longstanding reality TV tradition of naming the suburb of St. Louis where a contestant is from instead of just saying St. Louis. Maplewood, Missouri, where Christina is "from", is a suburb of St. Louis. It's right on the border as well, it's not even a far suburb.

You can practically pick the hottest girl at the beginning of HK and pencil her in as runner-up. Corey got the shaft.
You know, I'm as perverted a guy as anyone, but even I felt a little uncomfortable with Corey's farewell montage leading off with her stripping.

I thought that Christina should have got the boot tonight, since she was clearly the worst in the kitchen for the day.
The footage of her changing to get ready to go out on the reward wasn't bad, though. :p
Petrozza really should have it in the bag now, but I guess you never know.

I hate it when they refer to someone as being from Chicago when I know for a fact that they are from a suburb. If you want to eliminate the actual City then say the're from Illinois.
Is that the exact opposite of your rant? :D

I don't understand how people say Cory got ripped off. She had the puree totally wrong and used the wrong meat! The only thing Christina missed was the cream.

I was really hoping for a Christina/Corey showdown...but Petroza is pretty good. I think he deserves to be there. Poor Petroza just had the unfortunate luck of being on the men's team and losing all the time.

Corey nailed the sauce. I think if she used the right protein, she would have won the challenge.
But she certainly deserved to get knocked out of the running off the bat due to the protein choice.
I too thought it would be Corey/Christina for a while now. I'm still a bit shocked Petroza made it to the finals. This is the guy that had difficulties memorizing a short menu and a guy that works VERY dirty.
Looks like they have an interesting twist for the final show. I'd like to see how it REALLY plays out.

and i think people need to remember what chef said many weeks ago..he doesnt care how good someone is/isn't since it's who he wants to work for him that matters (or some such phrase he used when he rejected nominees)

That's true, but I don't think there's a substantial enough difference in their overall performances that it'll make up for it if one is clearly superior in the final episode.
Other than Ramsey seemingly really enjoying hobnobbing around town with Christina. :p

I like Petroza for the win...
I like Petrozza, but I haven't seen anything that suggests he's a particularly inspired chef. He's certainly a competent line cook, but is he anything more than that?
They showed a little clip of him designing his menu on next week's preview. I guess I'll spoilerize it, although it spoils nothing....
He's rhapsodizing about creating something with the flavors of soy!.... ginger!...and sesame!, as if that wasn't the base of every bottle of "Asian-inspired" salad dressing and stir-fry sauce you'll find at the local grocery store.
Not a promising sign.

I wasn't surprised by the final two but I was rather hoping Cory would make it.
As a probably completely irrelevant aside, I can't believe how much smoking these contestants do. Cory seemed to be the only non-smoker of all them.
As for next week... I couldn't believe who they brought back to help. Why would anyone pick Jen. She said something about being here for the team but everything in her past performance suggests she has a vindictive nature. As for Petrotzza, I think he should visualize whirled peas. :)

Because its alway the last six (I think) contestants that got sent home that help make up the finalists' team.

of the six they showed, how many would you really want to help you?
Matt - not likely
Jen - please
Corey - okay
Bobby - okay
Louross - you can have him
Rosann - you can have her
of the six, 2 have some redeeming value, 2 are weak, 1 is crazy and the other one is a vindictive b*tch

I hate to keep quoting spoilers with spoilers, since these really aren't spoilers, but....
Who was the one who left because she burned her hand? Melissa? She wasn't too bad. I guess she left too early to be brought back, but I'd rather have her on my team than most of these guys. Hell, I'd rather have Ben on my team than at least 3 or 4 of them.

I sort of agree... So let me put it this way... I'll use a couple of real examples...
In this area, if you are in Cupertino or Daly City (suburban cities of San Francisco and San Jose), I agree that it would be better to call them out as such... But I can see the argument of using the nearest big city...afterall, with the national audience, who the hell knows where Daly City is? Well, it's 10 miles south of San Francisco... Oh...okay, now I have my bearings...
What I do disagree with is when someone uses a suburban NEIGHBORHOOD name as that of a proper city... So here in San Jose, let's say there is a neighborhood called "xyz"...but it is in San Jose proper... "xyz" is NOT a city... Don't say you are from "xyz", California!!!

I never claimed to know how good or bad of a cook she is. For that matter, I assume Gordon is a good cook, but I have no experience to prove it. You said "She's just not that good", which sounds to me like a statement of fact. I just wanted to know what you based that on. I've never met Christina, nor do I know anyone who has, AFAIK.
As far as my little rant, I think, were someone from a suburb of a big city talking to somebody from a different town, and the out-of-towner asked them where they were from, they would name the nearest big city (within reason of course, if you live 400 miles from Billings, Montana, you're not going to say you're from Billings). I technically live in the city of St. Louis, though I grew up in the suburb of Chesterfield. To people outside of St. Louis, I said I was from St. Louis. To other St. Louisans, I said I was from Chesterfield. Now, I tell people I live in South City, which is kind of a neighborhood. My technical neighborhood is Grand South Grand.

yeah.. But it's FAMOUS. Everyone knows Hollywood. Heck, before the Oscars moved to the Kodak theater, the TV people covering it wouls still say "Live from Hollywood!!" People like to use Hollywood as a generic term for Los Angeles and the entertainment industry.
Is it any worse than saying "He's from Brooklyn" or "She is from The Bronx"?

OK... So I see your point... It's a known monument of sorts... So saying that you are from a famous location is probably good to communicate where you live/work, etc... I get that...
But it's not a city... don't treat it like a city... Don't address your mail to Hollywood...you live in Los Angeles...
Saying you live in Hollywood conversationally is like saying you live near the Empire State Building... So I stand corrected...

Its easier to teach the craft than it is to be a leader...that's why Corey is gone - I don't think it had anything to do with her choice of meat in the challenge.

yes I have. I actually enjoyed it. The only problem is you can only play it for a cumulative time of 30 minutes and it locks out. Then you have to pay $19.95 for the full version.

I played the Hell's Kitchen game.
It's pretty good.
There's not really a whole lot of dialogue from Ramsey.
But yes, I was called a donkey.
I played the HK game until my time ran out (midway through Day 5). It had two major parts: dealing with the customers in the front of the house (seating them, taking their orders, delivering the food, clearing the dishes), and preparing the food in the kitchen. It's very much like Diner Dash if "Flo" had to cook the food too. All the while, Gordon Ramsay is watching over you and making comments about your performance. The comments were usually pretty positive in my game ("I like that. I quite like that.", etc) but I'm sure he has other comments that he can make.

OK, predictions for the Finale - without spoilers 'cos it's just my opinion, and anyone who watched last week knows that six of the previously booted contestants are coming back!
There are two factors:
1. The winner will be whomever does NOT get saddled with Jen or Matt
2. Who is the most trainable as Executive (not Head) Chef in GR's restaurant.
As the first is likely to be one on each team, I predict Christina for the win based on my second comment.
The winner is highly unlikely to get too many "executive" powers when running the restaurant anyway. There will be people advising them every step of the way. No-one is going to risk giving any of these clowns free reign in a kitchen. It would be financial suicide!
HK is a reality show and is provided for entertainment only. If you want to see REAL chefs, then you have to watch Top Chef on Bravo.

They do this every year, but if GR really wants to know who would be a better choice to run his restaurant, he should bring in some of his own staff and see how the contestants work with them.

That was a hen in a pumpkin. Was that really Petroza? I've already forgotten.
I think if Ramsey pays attention to actual talent as opposed to experience, Christina might win this.
