Season 2 was good just short because of the dumb strike. Lets hope we get a full season this year and not a another realicrap show like "Who will marry a gameshow host?" (BTW I made that up).

Me too. And it's not gonna take a whole lot to do that - I barely remember anything from it. That could be the worst Season 2 slump ever. Well, maybe "The OC" is up there too...

My vote for dumbest idea by the writers of Hero's goes to the Mexican wonder twins. These pics look like they take place in the future.

At least the twins was a new idea. The rest of Season 2 was just a total rehash of Season 1.

When did Hiro go back to feudal Japan to end up being the "inspiration" for the organization that is so evil today in the first season?

In the Season 1 finale. :D

Yeah, that part was new. There were other things that were new too, but the basic overall storyline for most of the characters was just a repeat (Claire hiding her powers in high school, saving NYC, Sylar being the bad guy, and others). At least it felt that way to me.

Season 2 is really just a blur to me. I really can't recall much of anything off the top of my head. I almost feel like it never happened. I remember Peter had amnesia, he met that Irish chick and she got lost in the future or something. Adam turned out to be that one Japanese hero guy that Hiro admired. Hiro was in ancient Japan most the season. Sulu died. Is Nikki dead? See I can't even remember what was going on! Oh yeah...and the Mexitwins.

......These pics look like they take place in the future.

I don't necessarily think so. The first pic of Peter(s) reminded me of when future Hiro found present day Hiro on the train and said "STCSTW". Same kind of outfits. Granted, it could still be future, but I leave open the possibility that the Heroes from the future have gone to the past.

Season 2 is really just a blur to me. I really can't recall much of anything off the top of my head......

We can't forget Veronica Mars:

And on a side note, why does Hayden's head look so HUGE in that pic???

I liked most of Season 2. It DID have too many similarities to S1, and I wasn't thrilled with the Mexitwins, but overall, I still liked it. Looking forward to S3.

Same here, seriously. I remember many individual scenes, but honestly I can hardly remember when or why they happened. It was just really forgettable TV for me.

90% of the stuff I watch is forgettable. Heros S2 is far from unique there.

Or maybe I'm just getting old. ;)

There was a virus...don't remember if they stopped that. Black tears, I remember that. But what I can manage to remember if the Mexitwin's tears were the cause of that virus...or what her point was in general. Did Silar kill her??? I remember the agency or whatever had some kind of "cure" that was making the "Heroes" sick. Was that the real "virus" or what? See, I just can't put together what I remember to form a complete storyline for S2. Anyone have a recap?

I honestly have no idea. I don't even remember if they wiped out the virus or what happened. I know Peter was in the future, I don't remember if he returned or not.

From Season 1, I can remember almost every scene and plot twist and how it fit in the overall story.

The strike really did season 2 of Heroes a disservice. More than any other show, I think. Lost wasn't affected by it. Pushing Daisies ended smoothly enough. Some shows just ended because no one was watching but should have been (Journeyman), some shows worked around it and with it (Sarah Connor Chronicles, BSG, all sitcoms). But Heroes did none of this. They abbreviated their plans for the season making the second season very disappointing.

It is still hard to believe that little Hayden is all grown up:

Well, we need a good "after" picture if we are going to make a good comparison:

+1. I can pretty much tell you the general plot to Season 1. I have absolutely no idea what S2 was about. I don't even remember how it ended.

Whether it was the strike, or the writing, or a sophomore slump, it doesn't matter. I'm afraid they may have lost a bunch of viewers. My wife is probably typically of the average viewer (and admit it, we aren't :D). She loved S1. But about halfway thru S2, I noticed Heroes was starting to stack up on her TiVo. When I asked her if she was watching, she gave kind of a half-shrug "eh, sometimes". When the season ended, I think the Now Playing folder had 4 or 5 shows in it. Then one day they just *poof* disappeared (yes, I check her TiVo all the time :D). Most likely unwatched.

They really need to start S3 with a bang; if it's slow out of the gate, the viewer dropoff will be stunning.

Agreed. I liked S2, but it was a comedown compared to S1. S3 needs to be better than S2 from Day 1. Hopefully they'll delay any "meh" moments to AFTER people are hooked. And, it would be nice if the finale was good too. IIRC, even S1 didn't have the best finale.

Let's see if I can remember what happened in S2.

Hiro was thrown back into ancient Japan to meet his sword's original owner and put him on his destiny's path. Meanwhile in the present the first group of heros (Linderman's group) starts getting killed off. Peter is found in a shipping container in Ireland with amnesia. Sylar is bandaged up but alive in some remote cabin. The Mexican twins are running through Central America to get to see Dr. Surresh. Noah and Surresh are working together to bring down The Company. Mika goes to live with his aunt in Louisiana so Nikki can go to The Company to get help. Lots of plot lines to follow here. Don't forget about Claire in a new school and the flying boy. Oh and Molly finds the policeman's dad because he's the guy that sees her when she thinks of him and can trap people in their dreams.

Hmm, I don't think I want to write a really long post so I'll try to cut to the chase. Sylar lost his powers, but joined up with the Mexican Twins to get to Molly. Then he got the cure for the virus and got his powers back. The cure was a mix of Surresh's and Claire's blood. The virus was engineered by The Company and set loose by Adam, who is the sword guy that Hiro helps become a hero. But Adam has a vendetta for Hiro because Hiro stole Adam's love back in ancient Japan. Hiro ends up putting Adam into a grave after getting to the virus in The Company's vault. Peter destroys it after realizing that Adam is not the good guy he thought he was when he met him in The Company's prison before the Hatian took his memory. Here I go writing a long post anyway.

I'll say that while the season was rushed, it was really good up until the last three episode when the strike was imminent and they rushed the story. Go back and watch it if you can. It won't take long :)

Basically, the mistake with S2 was that they tried to write it exactly like S1. Not in terms of what happened, but with the many many different plot lines that at first seem like they're all developing so unbelievably slowly, only to all eventually come together near or at the end of the season. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not what people were expecting, I think. I think people sort of expected season 2 to directly build from the climax they had near the end of season 1, and have season 2 be all action packed right from the beginning. Instead, by starting it the way they did, it was sort of like hitting a pressure relief valve and there was a total lack of any sort of tension.

The other problem was that they didn't introduce the Venezuelan twins (not Mexican - not everyone who is Hispanic is Mexican, people) properly. They started off right away with scenes featuring them, with absolutely no connection to any of the more familiar characters or any of the plot lines we knew from season one, and without properly explaining who or what was going on. That works in a first season, where people are more willing to give the show a chance and see where they're going with a particular plot line, but in a second season people want to see how it relates to what already happened.

The problem with season two was made worse by two factors: the audience was rapidly growing impatient and not willing to give it a chance to see where it was going, and so Kring et. al. had to abruptly change plans to placate them. Plus, the writers strike forced them to bring the show to a shorter conclusion than they probably had wanted to.

Unfortunately, I think fans will be even more impatient than last season. That places Kring between a rock and a hard place. They can't do what made season one successful, with all sorts of intricate interspersed plots - that will lose a lot of their remaining audience. But so too will "dumbing the series down" and making the plots more action packed and less intricate. (See also: late series Alias)

I'm really nervous for the series. I would not surprised to see it on TV "death pool" lists.

She may look anorexic in the photo, but she's not IRL. I had the chance to meet her once (*sigh*), and she's just a tiny girl. She's very similarly sized as my wife - about 4'10" and maybe 90 lbs wet. They aren't anorexic, just tiny.

When did you get to meet Kristen Bell wet? And how did you determine the 90 lbs?

"Somewhere, Joey's head just exploded."

I met Kristen Bell at the Star Wars Celebration in Los Angeles last year. She was very nice. She's a tiny little thing, though. My wife is also tiny, and they both are of similar size and statue.
