I'm really glad that Indian chick is gone. I don't care is she is into Indian cuisine. To not even want to handle a fish was really embarrassing. Not that any of these contestants are any better than a home cook, but come on, she was a joke.
Nice idea for a show though but you've got to bring a lot more to the table than she did.
I loved it when that goof fell into the dining hall. :D
I still won't be surprised to see him win. If he can control his personality, he's got a much better camera presence than anyone else on the show.
The black guy is a mush-mouth. I can only understand about every third word.
The blond girl was quite impressive. She's listening to the judges and learning and changing based on their comments. She's another I could see winning this show.
The Uma Thurman chick was also quite impressive on this episode. I loved how she bounced back after that fall. She's another on my lists of possible winners.

There was a nice shot down her shirt when she was filleting her fish.
And her falling and the sauce going everywhere was one of the funniest things I've seen.

Kelsey is REALLY good. This is her show to win. Very impressive.

I like Kelsey, I think she's the most likely to win it, at this point. I'm so glad Nipa is gone, but Lisa's got to be next. Nipa destroyed that fish - and there's no way for her to even have gotten any further with her fear of handling raw food. (And I would never filet a rainbow trout like that - you cook that whole and filet it at the table.)
Who the hell wears Gucci shoes and a $300 blouse in a kitchen?? That's just asking for trouble.

What a waste of a beautiful rainbow trout.
The problem with Nipa is that she is so limited in her outlook. She comes from the midwest, so she doesn't have experience with seafood. She knows something about Indian food, sure, but it's only a subset -- so her experience there is limited also.
My husband said out that there are recipes with seafood from the part of India her family comes from. But she doesn't know them, obviously.
When your whole 'culinary point of view' is to broaden other people's experience, it doesn't help when your own experience is so small.
My husband pointed out that there are recipes from her family's part of India which do involve seafood.
As for Lisa, now we get to see if she learns from this latest episode, and loosens up a bit. I might even like the real Lisa, but the person she's pretending to be, with the overly-styled facade has to go.
Note to the guys: Ruth already made the Romulan joke a couple of episodes ago. ;)
It was great to see Kelsey take in their notes and learn and pitch her energy WAY better in the spot at the end of the show.

Is that really the point of view of the Food Network? :)

I was talking about Nipa's theme for her show -- to introduce viewers to the 'new and exotic' cuisine -- Indian food.

As far as the Food Network goes, it would be exotic.
I wish they'd bring back Martin Yan. :(

well, I would submit that for a whole lot of people, Indian is more "new and exotic" than, say, Chinnesse.
Jeremy,
If you want an asian cooking show, see if your local PBS station carries Ming Tsai's show.

YES!!! I hope she wins. Although her shows would all be about making cookies.

Ok, expensive wardrobe, but heels? Don't most of them wear crocs, or clogs, like nurses? My back starts hurting after cooking a while, I can't imagine doing it in heels!

hard to tell what those TV personalities wear on air because they are hidden behind a counter.

On a side note, went to Red Lobster yesterday, and had Kelsey's tilapia dish.
It was...different. A little too sweet for my tastes, but that may be because they put too much of that sauce on the fish.
I'm not sure I'd order it again, tho. It was just different enough that I liked it ok, but it's not going to be a super favorite of mine or anything.

This morning after I got ready for work I decided that I had time to make breakfast. I was in the kitchen in my work clothes and hells cooking. :D I at least wore an apron so as not to get dirty.

My wife just got that tonight and had the same opinion ... it was good, but not great. I had to pass due to a nut allergy.
My seven-year old daughter really got a kick out of seeing the NFNS insert in the menu though (she loves watching the show with us).
