I have a Tivo s3 unit. I was transferring a couple of 2 hrs programs. The transfer stopped with 43 min to go. If I'm recording 2 shows on the Tivo will that stop the transfer?

No problem at all here, 2GB, 10GB, 20GB, it all transfers without any problems for me. I'm running 2.6.1 on a Vista machine.

The best bet is to clear everything. Delete any attempted transfers and reboot both TiVo's either using the menu restart or a hard reboot (unplug TiVo and plug it back in). That should allow you to restart the transfer.

Sure it can!

Sounds like your computer is still running Fat32...

I've got 10+ gig HD files right here on my laptop...

It took me 4 days to transfer 7 hrs of program by stopping and restarting the computer. I took a look at my TiVo folder it 28 program on it. I guess that was caused by the stopping and restarting. I started with desk top 2.6.1, and started switching between 2.5 and 2.6. I put 2.5 back in this morning. I was able to transfer 2 2hrs programs without stopping, Maybe I go the bugs out.:D.
Thanks for the information about restarting the tivo I didn't know that it would let you restart the transfer.

If it happens again and restarting doesn't work you may need to clear the TiVo Desktop recording cache files. You can do that by going to:

C:\Documents and Settings\[your name]\Local Settings\Application Data\TiVo Desktop\Cache\

Open the cache folder, select all files and delete. That will clear any corrupted files and should let you start anew.
