View Full Version : Why a program did not record

We have had TivoHD for quite a while but just got Comcast digital cable. (We got got both the converter box AND the digital cards for the Tivo.) There were the usual litany of problems getting the cards to work and we thought they were ok but about 1/2 of the HD channels won't play (Comcast is coming back out to look at this). However, this question concerns another channel IFC (Independent films) that is in our 'new' digital lineup. I set to record Gosford Park last week and it didn't record. History says 1) Tivo not authorized for channel (BUT WE CAN VIEW IT); 2) item not purchased (I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS A PAY FOR VIEW DEAL; or 3) Program not available in your area (IT WAS ON THE TIVO PROGRAM LIST BUT I CAN'T PROVE IT WAS ACTUALLY SHOWN SINCE WE DIDN'T WATCH LIVE).

So, are there typically some digital channels (not even things like HBO or the like) for which this kind of thing happens or is there still some problem with my Tivo and/or Comcast authorizations? If anyone has any experience/guidance to offer it would be most appreciated.

Sorry - my error - I just thought the channel I was referring to was in our particular digital cable lineup but it isn't.

Well, as much as you must feel silly, aren't you glad to know it's not your TiVo? :-)
