View Full Version : Set up new HD Tivo w/out Phone

Hi all,

My father in law just gave us his HD Tivo (Directv) and stupid me cleared everything off & we had to do setup again. We don't have a home phone, so we are stuck.

I searched for threads on how to do it through wireless, but they were all pretty old. Just curious if I can somehow complete the setup through my wireless or if any of those directions still apply?

If it's DirectTV I don't think you can.

Confused. Is it a Tivo HD, Directv HD receiver, or Directv Receiver with Tivo? If it's a Tivo HD then you do not need a phone line. If it's for directv then I would suggest asking in the DirecTV Receiver with TiVo (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=7) Forum.

No problem. I just think you would have a better shot at finding your answer in that forum. Most Directv users probably do not even come in this one. Good Luck!
