View Full Version : Getting a program off old TIVO HD

I just put a new HD in my TIVO, and it's working fine.

The problem is my wife has a Crossroads program with Sugarland and Bon Jovi, saved on the old HD.

Can I put the old HD into my computer and pull off the program, and then put the new HD into my computer and transfer it onto the new HD?

You can put the old HD in the TiVo and transfer to your computer. Then put the new HD in the TiVo and transfer it back from the computer.

Only way.

No.

You can put the old drive in your TiVo, pull the program with TiVoToGo, then feed if back with TTCB, to the new drive in the TiVo, if it is a Series 2 or Standalone.

if you have another TiVo, you need to somehow record it with a transfer device.

I have a Sony SVR3000 series 2.

Could you please explain this in english or layman's terms to me :))

I'm lost now.

If I put the old HD in with the new HD how can I get the program off the old HD onto the new HD?

Plus, I don't have a home network

No, he meant you have to take the new HD out, and put the old one back in (not hooked up at the same time).

That is the key to getting shows off a Tivo.

Could another option be to re-image the new drive?
I think there is software that will copy everything off the old drive, including shows, but I'm not sure.

AFIK, without a network there's no way to get the recording off of the hard drive.

Of course, he can always put the original drive back in the box and run a recording off to a stand-alone DVD burner or VCR :eek:

Edit: Or he can create a keyword Wishlist with "Sugarland" - and BTW, the episode you mentioned is airing on 6/13 at 11:00 PPM on MHDTV.
