I have a new s3 hd unit (old timer, 4th tivo since 2000)... I have 2 s-cards from Insight cable (Columbus OH). I've noticed that the recorded HD shows are pixilated/freeze. Some only record a few seconds then nothing - but they get saved. And some like my poor "Lost" were so horribly pixilated and garbled I finaly just gave up and deleted it - and transfered a SD recording over from my S2 (thank GOD for back up plans!!). I've found my live TV is just fine in HD - no issues at all. But everything I've recorded via season pass or the to do list in HD is garbled or blackscreened. I think the live buffer seems to help - just to try it out I recorded Family Guy in HD and all of the buffer was fine - but everything after that just went black.
I've tried reading through a lot of the forums here but with the issues dating back to last year I was thinking the problem would be fixed? Is this the same issue people are pointing to the 9.3a software? I just got this replacement unit from TiVo about 2 weeks ago - so it should have all the latest fixes.... I would think...
Any suggestions on this? Should I check the name on my cable card? (Scientific?) or does that not matter now.... I truly love my TiVo boxes and hope this can get fixed.... hated to get an HD box that doesn't record HD!
