I have seen the other reports about video freezes. I have 9.3 and have experienced video blackouts about once every 5 days. Not sure when it happens ; it has alway been discovered when panel is turned on. The clock shows on front but no video is being sent (panel will display when video sensed). This can only be fixed by unplugging the unit, as the menu is unresponsive.
Curious whether others have experienced this on their Series 3. My TivoHD has not exhibited this behavior.

About once a week when I turn on my TV the S3 freezes. If I change tuners it is OK, but swapping back to the other tuner again the video is still frozen. The recordings seem to be still recording, just a freeze with the display. If I swap tuners several times the S3 reboots.
Not exactly the same as yours, but an indicator that there may be problems with the S3 as well as THD.
Then again, it just may be an indicator of a failing hard drive.

This happens with my S3 once every 4 to 6 weeks. I turn on my Sony XBR CRT TV and just get a total black screen. Nothing I hit on the Tivo remote changes anything, although the Tivo appears to still be working/recording stuff. I have to unplug it to get video back. This is via HDMI through a monoprice 5x1 HDMI switch to my TV.
It has happened once so far with 9.3, but happened every once in a while with 9.2 too.

I have the same switch. If you don't unplug the TiVo, it would reboot itself after a short time. That's why I have to use component instead.

Are you using HDMI?
Yup...this is with HDMI. Never happened before 9.3.
This problem started with 9.x. No problem with 8.x.

Definitely still some HDMI gremlins in Tivo's codebase.
