I recently put my Sony SVR3000 back together and got it working again. I'm trying to use it with a DirecTv D11-100.
For some reason, I can't get the IR blaster to work properly. It's the two-headed one that TiVo requires, however, it can never pass the test in the Channel Changing setup. I never had a problem using the TiVo with my old Sony SAT-B3 receivers.
Is anyone here using this combo? I'm sure it's just a question of geting the heads lined up properly, but I can't seem to find the right setup. One thing I notice is that the IR window on the D11-100 seems closer to the top than the bottom and I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it.
Another question, about the Channel Changing test. I'm not sure how to answer some of the questions.
The test starts off trying to change the channel. It seems that part works. It changes it to channel 2. After that, it tries to change to channel 202, 204, 206, 206, etc...
Well, in trying to change to 202, the first 2 usually works, then it might fail on the second number - 0. Then the third number, 2 - works. So, it tries to go to channel 22 instead of 202.
Here's my problem. It asks if it:
A - changed the channel to 202
B - to another channel besides 202
C - nothing happens
Well, technically, it did try to change the channel. I see that it shows 22 in the banner before it comes up as an unknown channel, then it stays on channel two again.
So, did nothing happen or did it change to another channel besides 202?
EDIT: Finally, do I need to use the dual-emitter IR or will a single emitter work?
Confused....
