boop & bong

is anyone else having issues with the the tivo BOOP BONG noise?

ever since we got our new tivo/dvr, whenever I'm navigating the tivo guide, fast forward, play, etc, it makes the BOOP noise as it should, but is also followed by the BONG and it's crazy annoying.

I had this issue with my unit as well. I ended up returning my Comcast Tivo unit and will wait until they get the bugs worked out. I didn't return it for the boop & bong issue. I was loosing my video about once a day and it would be out for several hours. Most annoying when you want to watch TV.

I had this issue previously. You might look for past posts of mine for more info. I don't have it anymore, but I don't know why. I had a box swap, and it's possible that your issue was prior to my new box, or was fixed by one of their numerous sw-reinstalls they've done on this one. Sorry that doesn't really help you much.

I just got my box replaced today, so i'll see if the Bong noise is gone....hopefully.

Switch to 5.1 surround sound mode and you'll get rid of both BOOP and BONG (and BOOB I guess...)
