I need to replace the HD in out Sony SVR3000, and my wife does not want to lose her Crossroads program with Bon Jovi with Jennifer Nettles.
Cannot save it to VCR (broken)
Can I transfer it to the new HD, or transfer it to our computer, and then to the new HD?
If so, how??? I see there are USB connections on the back of the Tivo
Thanks again!.......marc

The USB connections on the back of the TiVo have limited functionality. You need to buy a special adapter (either wired or wireless) which plugs into those USB ports. Follow the instructions that steve614 linked you to. Keep in mind not all adapter work, so consult the list.
Slightly off topic, but once you are connected via the network adapter and if you have broadband internet access in your home, there is an entire world of programming material available at your fingertips. You will be able to download movies from Amazon Unbox, download free "TiVocasts", play a couple of novelty games on your TiVo, remote scheduling, listen to podcasts and internet radio and many, many other features.
Also, once you have your TiVo connected to your home network with the adapter, you will be able to view your digital pictures stored on your PC on your TV screen, listen to music stored on your PC on your TV, not to mention the ability to move shows from your TiVo to PC, and back again. If you have a second S2 or later, you would also be able to move shows from one TiVo to the other (Multi Room Viewing - MRV) provided the content is not copy protected.

On another point:
If you want to DIY, you can copy the existing drive, including the recordings, to a new blank drive. If you already upgraded the drive, you need a beta version of mfslive to further expand the expansion.
