This may sound difficult to many people who hate Charter Cable but I've had their Digital, HD, Internet, & cable cards (Both types) since I moved to Saint Louis, MO. I've had nothing but great services from them.

I think many people have bad experiences with Charter employees or contractors because those people aren't good at their jobs so don't give up on Charter, just contact multiple people and sooner or later you will find someone who will help you take care of your issue(s). I've run across people who don't seem to have a clue from time to time but I get a very competent person if I call back at different time of the day or week and someone finally takes good care of me.

I just heard about the new "switched digital video" that is starting to be offered by some cable companies and I called Charter and to my shock they didn't even know what it was. The CSR told me Charter has no plans to implement this technology any time soon.

Am I the only person who has nothing but praise for Charter?

Charter does have plans to implement SDV. I believe they are already testing it in several markets.

i didn't have a problem until this week. i decided to disconnect my phone because i didn't use it, which was going to leave me with just internet. a tech came by my house when no one was home, and disconnected my home from the pole. how after 3 days, atleast 5 online chats, and 5 phone calls, i still can't get anyone to agree to come back and fix the problem. i can physically see where the work was done to the line, and if i had a boom truck i'd fix the stupid thing myself. so 3 days without internet (btw using work computer and verizon card for this rant) and i am about to tell them to shove the internet. i really don't want to pay more for a slower dsl, but it is better than paying for the cable i can't use.

i guess i never had a problem before because i never had to deal with customer service, or tech support.

I just asked a tech the other week about this, and he said no, at least not in the LA area for the forseeable future.

Aside from having a crap HD lineup and charging me for a DVR i didnt have, the service has been fine.
And my Motorola M-Card has worked perfectly from the instant it was installed.
