Hi everyone,

I need to switch my mother's International Programming from one to another; D* told me that I'd have to change receivers and dish; but the CS never mentioned anything about my SAT-T60. The new channels are apparently on a different sat., and the channel numbers are four digits instead of three. I checked my T60, and although it can display channels in the 9xxx range, the channels we'll need are in the 2xxx range, which I can't seem to get to -- does anyone know if I need to change my DVR as well? I don't want to change unless I can get a unit with Tivo interface, but we all know that's pretty much an impossibility right now; so if I do, what are my options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You may need a new Dish and/or multiswitch but I am pretty sure the SAT T60 can receive all standard definition channels.

it can't get channels from the 95 sat (intl programming).

Yes, D* already mentioned about new dish and receivers, I assume if we need a new multiswitch they'll throw that in too. But my concern is about my SAT-T60; if it cannot receive programmings from the new sat., do I have any options at this point short of giving up the Tivo interface? Are there any DirecTivos that can receive from the international programming sat.?

The T60 is an older "Series 1" Tivo design. Any of the newer "Series 2" DirecTivos will receive all of the SD channels from the various satellites. These include the R10, HDVR2, etc.

I believe the S1 WILL also receive the 95 sat as well.

I KNOW for a fact they DO work on the 72.5 bird, because I've got clients using it right NOW in our area, which is a 72.5 locals market. Since it does work on the 72.5 bird, it should work on 95 as well.
When the 72.5 bird first came online, the S1's would not work, but they sent out an upgrade which evidently fixed that.

spiffy - easy way to find out if it works; once you get your new dish installed, hook up your Tivo to it & run the autodetect function in the setup menu. It should then find the 95 bird, & if the Tivo is on the account, the international channels should appear in the guide.
