I have been a D* subscriber since they were D* + USSB (For Movies). I bought an SA TiVo to use with my D* receiver as soon as they were available in my area. I add a DTiVo to my account during the first beta test (fun fun fun) and have since added 3 more and then an R15. (of course I have had a few failures so my account has only 3 DTiVos and the R15)
I am self installed from the start and am clearly more able to do the installs and upgrades correctly and neatly than 95% of the D* installers.
However, I am getting up in age and my joints no longer seem able bend in the manner required for much of the work and I cannot maintain the installation and preform the upgrades the way I like.
After much thought I decided to investigate the cable co offerings in the high def market.
I have had two of the cable DVRs for about two weeks (one Moxi and one Motorola) While they are not TiVos and there are many things I do not find perfect they both do the main thing; find record and play shows and movies well enough.
So I am closing my D* account and retiring my D* DVRs ( I own them all)
Because of this I will no longer frequent the TiVo forums and would like to say goodbye to all the people here.
Thanks for the memories,
