"Transfer in Progress" never starts!

I'm just a regular guy that knows enough to get myself in trouble! (and not much more!!)

After reading the forum, I haven't seen (or I overlooked) my issue specifically. My troubles are transferring from PC to Tivo. The strange thing is it "was" working. Now, I can view my tivo folder from the Tivo box under "now playing" and all my videos are there. I select one, transfer now and it asks if I'd like to watch while transfer or continue browsing... all seems good right? Either way, if I try to watch or come back a day later to watch it, I select the video and nothing has transferred. "Transfer in Progress".

I know my network is working (wouldn't be able to see the folder otherwise)
Files are mpeg2 (succefully transferred in the past)
Tivo Desktop 2.6.1 w/plus upgrade
Series 2 Tivo

UPDATED 5/18/08-After hours of tinkering and reading I unistalled 2.6.1 and installed 2.5.1 and guess what?... IT'S WORKING!!!!
OLD SKOOL BABY!!!

What version software is the tivo running?

Played with it again last night. Some transfer, some start then stop, and some don't go at all. Each video has the same result no matter how many times I try. (The ones that transfer, transfer every time, the one I have problems with... same problem everytime.) Thought at first it's a network issue, but I don't think so. I am converting all my videos to mpeg2 and all play on my computer w/o issues.... not sure what to try next.

I couldn't get 2.6.1 to work when i tried it.. i actually had to go back to 5.1 and use the upgrade key and now it works fine.. do a search here on desktop 2.6.1 and there were some really great suggestions in there, including the one that worked for me.

I didn't have any problems while my S2 was on 9.3a but when it got 9.3c, I have been having problems trying to transfer shows to another tivo or PC.
