I have been hunting around for this information, but I am hoping someone has some wise ideas...
I have a series 3 Tivo, and I am running Tivo Desktop Plus. I have an Archos 705 wifi that I like to transfer videos to it for my frequent flights across the US. The screen resolution is 800x480. At the end of the day, I am just looking to transfer HD shows from my Tivo to the Archos to watch.
Here is how I am trying to do it:
1) Tivo -> Tivo Desktop Plus makes the .Tivo file -> VideoReDo/DirectShow Dump converts .tivo file to .mpg. Problem is that from VideoRedo/DirectShow Dump does not reduce the screen size of an HD file, so the Archos does not like it.
2) Tivo -> Tivo Desktop Plus -> Convert for. Problem is that I can't find anywhere what the output of the screen resolution is for the 5 different portables (anyone?) and it reduces it to something that is not as good on the screen, it looks blocky.
Is there a program that people could recommend that:
a) Does not require a genius to set the one hundred thousand options at the command line?
b) Give some control over the output file?
c) Does not load up my computer with a bunch of crapware?
My Archos can understand almost any type of file MPEG-42, WMV2, protected WMV2, MPEG-2, VOB, H.264, AVI.
Thanks for you help in advance!
