I might not have been keeping up with current events, but, with the resolution of every plotline, or at least every major one, was this the seaeon finale, or the series finale? If it's over, I'll miss the family interaction. I really enjoyed this show. It isn't a Lost or anything, but it was almost always light and enjoyable.

Joe's partner was a manipulating bottom-feeder as was said in the show. She got her $1,750,000 and Joe got his $250,000. Considering how financially tight things have been, that was a carrot that he could not pass up, even if it cost him in the long run.

The ghost story was fairly bland, but they really didn't have that much time to develop it. I assume the woman placed the white noise machine in the attic herself, wrote the note, and then killed herself to get the husband, all to get to the father. Why not go after him directly? The husband did say he was in a bar and she just came up to him and started the relationship, right then and there. She had this planned for a while, especially buying the house. It doesn't matter if someone things Allison is on their side or not, she is only after the truth.

The DA getting cancer, asking Devalos to finish the term, then run unopposed in the next election, was too neat a wrapper on the whole thing.

With no unresolved conflicts, it makes me nervous for next year. I would rather the show end this way than with an unresolved cliffhanger, but really, I'd rather it not end, at least not yet.

It was the season finale, but it will be back next year - but I think not until mid-season.

I kinda understand them being happy about the settlement, but Joe accepting the 250 was equivalent to having the word idiot tattooed on his forehead. I guess there wasn't time in one hour episodic TV but before signing any contract he woulda shoulda gone to a lawyer to protect his interests.

And, Joe gets to finish the project, with I assume a large salary.

I liked the wrap up to the Joe arc, but the DA one was forced. And if Meagan sold the idea to the rich guy, wouldn't Joe legally be entitled to 49% of that money? In essence, she sold the company and didn't tell the 49% shareholder. Or did she sell it after they split up?

This way they can start Joe's new job with a clean slate. He's supposed to start an office and hire people there in Phoenix. He has the 250K seed money from the sale, whether he uses it for the girls' college fund or invests it back into the business.

The whole Carolyn Keener arc sort of feels like it can be done again with another Ameritips-type company. They could even go in a different direction, but the show has been well-focused on solving murders.

Why is that underhanded? That is what a "broker" does - brings buyers and sellers together. What makes her unethical was her means of getting him to 'sell out.' By lying about her boyfriends etc...

Yes, it was.
I wonder how much of this compaction of subplots was due to the shortened season.
They only did 16 episodes this year.

It wasn't on until mid-season this year, well, writer's strike and all messing about with things, so the mid-season part doesn't bother me, BUT, the way everything was wrapped up so well made me fear for the future. Especially since on IMDB, the one line plot summary says that Devalos' rival ramps up his atttacks, when on the show as aired, he quit with terminal cancer. That seemed like a tacked-on ending to close the plot out like in a series finale, nit just a season one. I am glad it will be back.

I didn't say underhanded, as in illegal, but it was manipulative, and the guy who paid the 2M called her a bottom feeder. Even Joe said that she did was totally legal, "good for her," but that he felt like he was somhow scammed. She called him brilliant but thick. It's what brokers do, very true. I never meant to imply illegal, but the coming on to him, knowing how much he loved and valued his wife and family, just to "encourage" him to abandon the partnership, was manipulative.

I'm glad the kids didnt see mom and dad doing anything in the car.

I looked up Kelly Preston on imdb. She's 45 years old! Ol' John Travolta has himself a smokin' hot wife!

So what's the story with Ariel? Her scene was obviously filmed apart from the rest of the cast. Is Sofia Vassilieva sick? She looks like she's gained a lot of weight in her face. Hope she's okay.

I've noticed you don't see the three girls together anymore. I'm guessing its a salary or contract issue: the kids can only do so many episodes a year, so they limit their screen time.

Maybe the girls are having a tiff or something. It happens, especially with children.

Ariel is in a movie called "My sister's keeper" that will be coming out in 2009, I am guessing she was gone to work on the film, as she plays a reasonably good sized role in the movie... well, actually I am reading the book now and only part way through, but she has been in the book a fair amount so far.

It wouldn't be the first time someone's time on screen was cut short by a movie role.

Very true, and that explanation is more reassuring than other possible reasons. We have gotten to know Marie in the meantime.

Too bad she's a Scientologist.

I wonder if she and Mr Travolta went their seperate ways, if she'd rethink the "religious choice".

Or did she convert him?
