Awesome episode! I don't follow American Idol so they were just singers to me.

FINALLY THE GORMAGON STORYLINE RETURNS NEXT WEEK!!!

About time! I was wondering when they were finally going to at least mention it again.

No kidding!

I am unspoiled on this one and it is one of my favorite shows. I think I actually gasped out loud there. Loved Bones taking out Fat Pam- so matter of factly just like swatting a fly, then right back to Booth.
The case itself was a little boring, except for Ace's eyeball there in the beginning.

I really enjoyed Zak and Brennan's singing. The joy right before the shocking! ending! was fun- it was nice to see Brennan acting silly.

this is a better comedy than most sit coms. So will zack be making an appearance on at least the AI auditions next year? this is the 2nd show tie in i've seen, the other one was on cbs but i forget which show mentioned the other in the past week.

I watched this late last night and it was a really nicely played episode.

When Brennen first started singing and Booth was sitting there smiling and laughing, I had a flashback to the show ANGEL where David Boreanaz would sometimes find himself in a Karoake bar trying to get info for a case from the people there. It was a nice nod to Angel even if it wasn't intended.

Well before he was shot, Booth was planning to sing "Mandy"....

Aww.. it was great that Eric Millegan (Zack) got to sing! He's trained in musical theater and was on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Proud to say I had no idea there were Idol's on Bones,
let along recognize any of them.

I did recognize the guy from the elevator in The Loop.

As soon as Booth was shot, I knew Bones would be the return shooter.
Then when she grabbed the gun, I figured she'd miss her first shot then get a hit, not square in the gullet first shot.

I think in the first season she shot someone and got her gun taken away. Don't quote me on that, but she is supposed to be an excellent marksman.

she is excellent in everything, as evidenced by her bragging on this show. It was classic how she said she is good at X, Y, Z and he took it so badly. He should know her by now. It's just the facts maam, no intention to harm your ego

One thing that continues to bother me about this show is their absolute inability to keep Brennan at a certain level of socialization. She seems to know or not know exactly as much as the plot or the joke of the moment requires, with no regard to how much she knew or didn't know in previous episodes, or sometimes even the previous scene. Somebody who is as out-of-touch with the most basic human interactions as she was in this episode would NEVER have the insight necessary to write best-selling novels.

Good point about the novels and it would seem she should be learning from the years with Booth. I got aggrevated this time about all her matter of fact 'bragging' she did this episode. I figured it was written in to push the point of difference in personalities betwen her and Fat Pam but it doesn't seem so necessary all the time.

Zack was great singing, it was like when Mike the Dirty Job guy sang opera in one of his show. Both have musical backgrounds that were not well known.

I thought it interesting that Hodges went for the gun and didn't get it with a napkin or pen, but with his fingers. I wondered why a foresnic guy wouldn't be more careful, but then thought he must know enough to know that it won't matter too much.

And why? why did Booth accept the socks from Pam? That was stupid and he seemed like he was trying to put her off but then kept the socks. Sweets could have given him a more specific warning, something like "she's a stalker type, be careful".

Although to be fair, Sweets tried repeatedly to warn Booth about Fat Pam and every time Booth cut him off at the knees. He never got to say what he was trying to say.

Aww.. it was great that Eric Millegan (Zack) got to sing! He's trained in musical theater and was on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar.Odd thing is. when he started singing, at first I didn't think it was all that good. I think I must have heard a rock(ish) version of that song somewhere, because I was expected a much faster tempo.

So (to me) it sounded like his tempo was all wrong. Initially it was almost like someone failing to keep up at karaoke. Weird.

Yeah, I got the feeling it was deliberate--that we were meant to start out cringing and then say, "Hey, wait a minute!"

booth agreeing to meet her alone, even after stalker behavior...was either arrogant or stupid.

Arrogant. Booth thinks he can handle himself in any situation (and if he hadn't be distracted by Bone's singing and already had his guard down, he probably would have dropped Fat Pam before she got off a shot).

Especially after Sweets' warnings, which just underlines the dynamic between the two of them... again.

for a moment i thought he was wearing a vest and was just pausing to hear her say 'i love you' and nonsense like that. Then he would wake up and say fooled ya!

It strikes me as very improbable that she would be ignorant of so many common idioms, but have "Girls just wanna have fun" memorized. The inconsistency is jarring at times. As you said, it serves any given plot, but not the character at all.

It has been said in the past, and I still believe that...
Sweets is Gormigon. We'll know next week, maybe.
