HME application to run in the background and intercept keys?

Hi everybody,

Is it possible using hme sdk to write a HME application to run in the background and intercept keys, something like a service ? I'd like to use a shortcut combination for my remote to jump to my application and be able to use it without needing the go to "Music, Photos, Products, & More" to open my application.

Any ideas? :)

No, it's not possible.

As mentioned elsewhere, TiVo Inc. does have a way to insert HME apps into other menus, but we haven't discovered it, and may not be able to use it even in theory without access to their servers.
