So we don't have to be all spoiler tag all the time.
Holy crap! That is one f'd up dude. Can you imagine production & the camera operators during his flip out? On one hand, it's un-freaking-believable TV. On the other, if he puts one of the girls through the wall they're in deep ****. I wonder whether they had private security around the corner JIC.
Sending him to rehab is genius. I'm surprised the roommates can visit at any time, I thought rehab visits were severely limited, especially in the beginning. Then again, everything I know about rehab I learned from 28 Days and Girl, Interrupted. :D
Do you think production knew about his background? It would be incredibly irresponsible to cast an alcoholic on TRW, but again, great television. Between him and Bri this is one wacky cast. Sarah, blonde girl, and Dave look like they've been dropped into an alternate universe. "Dude...this is not what we signed up for."
The roommates are talking a good game now, but how much will they really step up when Joey gets out of rehab? Will they get all the alcohol out of the house and curtail (or eliminate?) going out? Could this be the first RW cast to manage to have fun w/o alcohol? (/me falls over laughing)

I think I caught crabs just from watching Bri and her friends in Philly. Anyway I actually know a lot of alcoholics and none of them act like Joey. The thought of him taking custody of his little brother...

I think it was more than alcohol. And while I have no knowledge of it, I think it took more than 4 hours a day in the gym to get as big as he is. "Supplements" can change a persons behavior also.

Yeah. Question is ... with his hard luck story how is it that he is buying anabolic steroids? I like when he started crying when the Asian producer guy explained they 'cared.'

Can I sue them for wasting an hour :). Meanwhile dunno what the actual time frame of that episode was, but the editing made it seem like it was 24 hours - which made the phone call from rehab kind of strange. Not as strange as the outfit Bri was going to wear to court though.
I totally don't believe Joey's I am poor, my parents are coke heads stories. I knew some folks who auditioned for TRW and they are very thorough. Anyone with anything to worry about does not stand a chance.

This is the best season of The Real World in a long time, though it could start to suck at any moment. The Joey meltdown was just crazy. They need that guy on every season. :D

And it is only going to improve. Bri's warrant does not count as this seasons arrest BTW... So that means someone needs to get arrested outside a local bar. I am hoping it is Sarah, she can learn something in the drunk tank (for instance did you know there are other people on the planet).

Like Robin said. They don't wanna get sued.
If you have been in a fight that there is any kind of record of you are dismissed from the audition. They interview old roommates, whoever...

Man, Sarah's got the best set of parents since Parisa's! Way to talk sense into your kid!
Greg is a tool.
The dude with the dreadlocks? Awesome. How cool to see someone who's actually working on their career and taking advantage of the opportunities TRW provides WITHOUT being a tool in the process.
Kim needs to not drink. First the "ghetto" incident, now this. Maybe she should clock some time with Joey. Isn't she a little old for drinking so much she can't remember it in the morning?
I like Sarah. Yeah, she's sheltered and judgmental, but she's a work in progress. She took it to heart when her parents pointed out she was being judgmental and is taking steps in the right direction.
Bri makes me want to take a shower.

His beats sounded pretty good too. I agree that was an opportunity TRW provided, since I doubt Sticky Fingaz would have taken that meeting if he wasn't getting the free promotion that this episode provided.

This is the best season of The Real World for one reason and one reason alone: MTV has finally figured out that it's a one-hour show.
I hate: Brianna (scuzzy), Kim (racist sorority chick), Joey (all sorts of crazy), Greg (faults too numerous to list).
I like: Will (charismatic, caring), Sarah (cute, but a little bitchy).
Neutral: the white boy whose name I can't ever remember.

Me too brotha ... (re: Sarahs parents). I thought they sounded nuts. And like they did listen... IOW she could have said I have cancer and they would have had they exact same conversation.
Meanwhile Sarah's boyfriend is a doormat. I totally don't see what he is getting out of that relationship w/ Sarah... maybe someone can enlighten me.
Greg is so odd. I can't tell if he is being sacastic or if there is some wrong with him (like split personalities) or just really creative editing?

i love greg just because he is unlike pretty much every character in real world history. every person on the show is insane, but he is nuts in a completely different way and tries to act like he doesn't care at all if he isn't part of the group.

Maybe you can become one of his associates?
So how big of a skeezer is that girl that is 2 timing Greg. It is simply amazing how some women can lie to another guys face like that. Even more amazing that Greg buys it. I think that girl will have the last laugh on Will also because she has a wiener

While I can't say that I like Greg, he's definitely making the most of his time on TV. I'll certainly never forget him. He's just ill as hell.
I'll also join the chorus in saying this is the best season ever.

In this weeks episode (May 21st), Greg was definitely on some sort of psychoactive drugs. Something like Klonopin. He wasn't drunk, but he was definitely addled.
And he's a giant *******.
And he has literally no idea how to interact with human beings.

I will pose a question here.. because on another forum I am in a fight with literally every other person who watches this show.
When you see Greg, he is a big guy, right, looks to be in good shape and stuff? But when I look at him I don't see him as an athlete, nor do I see him as a phsyically intimidating guy. He just doesn't strike me as someone who is terribly athletic and if he were to get into a fight, I would not be betting on him in a lot of cases.
Am I crazy in my assessment
hanumang
05-25-2008, 08:01 PM
I can't disagree with that assessment.
If Greg was a fighter, he wouldn't resort to silly ish like stealing panties from a chick. Passive-aggressive BS like that gets no respect in my book...

What kind of freak puts rocks in someone else's bed, puts money on his bed (I guess to show how much money he thinks he's worth?) and then steals a roommate's panties? It is clear that he is only there to promote himself & doesn't care to take part in the workshops, etc.

Greg must be the biggest tool they have ever had on this show. He actually makes me miss Puck.
How many seasons of the RW have not had a gay cast member? This is the first I can remember, but I have not watched them all.

Last nights episode was pretty drama field, I wish Will would have took one for the team and beat the $&*% out of Greg. I have a feeling Joey isn't long for the house, although the roomates felt empathetic towards him when they saw him, I think they are too selfish to change their ways.
Since they are video taped around the clock in the house why couldn't the producers put a stop to Greg's childish acts, messing with peoples personal stuff isn't cool.

And ruin the great drama? Hell they didn't stop Will from throwing things at Greg. Didn't stop Joey from going nuts. They don't step in unless I think fists start going and even then I bet they have a 10 second rule before doing that.

Greg is so full of ****, and it's funny to me how fast these people are to just blow it off.
"I know he's going to go to bed tonight and cry" .. please..
and him feeling like he's the one that's been wronged because of what happened with the girl last week.
The crap with the toothbrushes was just wrong.
But it's ok, because they deserved it for telling him to clean up his crap.
and Bree (stripper girl), all upset because cutting back on partying will affect her "networking".
This whole cast is a trainwreck in one way or another.
Joey with that hair looks like the lost Gotti brother.
Robin

Joey's "Ooooh, yeah!"s and whatnot are really grating on me. It's gonna be something else to see him come back to the house. Sarah and Dave seem to really have their heads on straight, Greg & Bree were openly hostile to the notion of cleaning up the act. Neither really surprises me, and I can't decide whether Bree's better or worse for being so verbal about it. Blaming it on "her music" definitely kicks her down a few notches.
Greg is a complete and utter TOOL! HTH old is he? (20. Thank you wikipedia!) I guess he's young enough to come to his senses at some point, but the VAST majority of people outgrow that hsit by 13. (Hey, a typo worked in my favor!) The pranks were dumb, and he ought to have anonymously returned Sarah's underwear when he saw how upset she was, but flat-out lying to Will, the one person he's trying to connect with? Whoever said he has a personality disorder is right-on.
Big props to Dave for doing a 180 on anger management. And bigger props to the therapist! (How did they get a therapist to agree to therapy on camera?) Anyway, way to read your audience.
Sarah's parents were annoying in this one. I liked them before since they pointed out she was being judgmental, but this one was all "stay with the psychopath. Pray". Not my cup of tea.
Greg's "associate" is something else. Your life is being videotaped. There's videotape of you sucking some dude's dick. WHY would you then lie to your "boyfriend" about it? He's obviously going to find out eventually, so you're either REALLY stupid or don't care. I'm thinking she doesn't care, which probably means she's only with Greg to guarantee some screen time on TRW. Should be a fun reunion show!
I liked Sarah's boyfriend. (I watched that show today too.)

If you start watching, you really need to see some of the earlier episodes. Maybe they run marathons of the past episodes sometimes.

They were in the "confessional" room and the camera angle/quality they had looked like it came from a smaller security type camera, not a typical hand held production type camera. I am guessing she figured it wasn't being caught on camera (she isn't a roommate and probably is unfamiliar with camera placement, especially smaller hidden ones).
Or she could just be stupid.
Great season though. 1 hour seems to fly by..

I was glad to see Greg booted, it was probably the first time in his life someone followed through on their punishment. I laughed when he tried to smooth talk his way out of it and she didn't want to hear it. Props to Sarah for sticking to her commitement to help make things easier for Joey. You're right. How can this kid stay in that house? I get the whole thing about the producers wanting the most drama on the show. The RW needs this drama to be interesting, I get that. However, I think it was really irresponsible of the RW producers to let Joey come back to the house so soon. He obviously needed / needs more time in rehab. Those producers knew what they were sending him back to. The other roommates will just go about their business partying while the RW lets this young man ruin his life. Joey really seemed to be trying hard to get on with his new life after 28 days of rehab. IMO, that house, and the Hollywood environment in general, is no place for a guy in his state.

I suspect Joey won't be around much longer. I like how Greg tried to defend his patheticness at the Improv Club, like he was unfairly fired.
What dummy.
I am a bit annoyed that Joey thinks everyone has to become altar boys and nuns because of him. I know he expected a bit more, but some of his expectations were unrealistic.

I didn't think he expected them to become altar boys but they told him they would do what they needed to do to help him, then the 1st night everyone but Sarah comes home drunk after 2:00 in the morning. I think he could have expected a little more support the first day.

Joey should join a 24-hour gym and then do his 6-hour workouts :) from 10PM - 4AM, that way he would be on the same sleep schedule as the drinkers. Sleeping through the obnoxious drunk late night antics is not really a smart idea.

Finally got around to watching this one.
Sarah: Awesome. Shocking that only one in six knows how to be an adult.
Joey: Dude's got a rough road ahead. I don't blame him for feeling angry and betrayed, they all SAID they would support him. It would be one thing if they'd had the balls to say "sorry man, there's still going to be drinking in the house. Hope that's not a problem for you." But they didn't.
Greg: Karma IS a f'n bitca, ain't she? Pleased to see him go. I don't care if he spurred interesting drama, not ever having to watch his smug mug again is well worth it. It was SO great watching him squirm!
The rest: Bunch of wankers. It's bad enough that they're going out drinking when they said they'd support Joey, but on the first night?! And in the house?! Is it really that necessary to continue the party at home at 2am? Do your partying elsewhere, then come home and go to bed. But no, wah wah they've got these smokin' Real World digs and they want to show them off and take advantage of them. When they grow up a bit and look back at this time they're going to be so ashamed.

Am I the only one who stuck it out?
I just caught up, including the reunion. Sucks that they didn't update on their careers. I'd think Brie's would have been handed to her on a silver platter.
Do you believe Sarah really went on the show never having seen it before? I can imagine not having seen it before applying, but once you'd been accepted I'd think you'd figure out WTH it was.
