Empty Recordings - What's Going On?

Twice in the last week I have experienced "empty" recordings. They seem to be recorded fine, and show up in the play list as recorded, but when I go to play them, they show "0" minutes recorded. I found some threads where this happened about a year ago. Haven't seen anything about it lately. I have never experienced it before. No other apparent problems. The last empty recording was the Hallmark movie on CBS 380.

Series 2 DirecTivo's. Ver 6.3f.

My system started doing this about two weeks before my hard drive crapped out. If you have anything stored on your TiVo that you want to save to disk, I would do it now, just in case you are having the same issue...

If you have anything stored on your TiVo that you want to save to disk, I would do it now, just in case you are having the same issue...I was pretty sure it wasn't hard drives because it started on two, different TiVo's at the same time, and the drives are fairly new. It never did it again, and I wish I could tell you what the problem was. The best I can remember was that the TiVo was trying to record programs ahead of time, if that makes any sense. Being as there was nothing there yet, it just recorded the title info and no program. Really stange, but whatever it was, it's gone.

I have this happen on certain Wish List items with Bon Jovi - it will never record Conan - and there was another one it wouldn't record but I can't remember. It's even tried it twice b/c of reruns but it's empty.

I set it up to record on my non-Tivo unit and it works. Very strange.

I get this on occasion - usually the local channels.

I have changed channels or come home and the screen is all black. Usually a change to another channel then back gets it working again.

I have lost about 4 recordings in the last year, two of them episodes of ER.

Seems like the TiVo just doesn't lock onto the signal somehow.

I have a DSR6000 (S1) w/3.5 software with a round 18" dish and direct cabling from the tuner to the LNB.
