Help with Series 2 RCA DVR40 Directv tivo

I have two of these and I have two directv dvr +'s. I can't stand the other dvr's, but I do like the fact that they have longer memory. They can remember 1.5 hours back whereas my tivo is only 30 minutes so you can't pause as long etc...

Is there a way I can upgrade the tivo's so they have longer memory like the dvrs do?? I have a feeling that soon I will be asking about replacing hard drives etc...
