Hi,

I'm using my series 2 for a music server only these days. It works fine serving music off my PC and into my whole house system. I have it set on repeat/shuffle, and let that part of it run continuously. Of course I mute my house system at night, but the Tivo doesn't know that.

Every day or three, and always when I'm sleeping it seems, the Tivo ends up back at live tv. I never see an error page, and I can always go right back to music photos and more, and restart the music.

I know the Tivo isn't rebooting. It is on Linksys wireless G, good signal strength. I know I should try wired to see if it still drops out, but I don't have a cable that will reach. It's been the same thing with previous versions of Tivo Desktop.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen the same thing in a wired configuration, or can shed any light on this. I'm really pretty happy with the setup, especially since the Tivo will use playlist files I create on my PC.

Thanks!

I've had some similar problems. I stream music through my TiVo a lot (but not 24/7) and have found that if I have any auto-transfers set up in TiVo Desktop, I loose the ability to stream music after a couple days and must reboot. If I get rid of all the auto-transfers, I can usually go for a week or two but still eventually loose the music stream and need to reboot. This is on a dedicated PC that is used almost exclusively as a media server for TiVo. When I was running it on my everyday PC, the problems were much more frequent and seemed to be highly correlated with when my daughter was playing games on the computer.

I chalk it up to very poorly written software.

On which side? Both? So you think the problem is more on the Tivo Server side, and not the Tivo box itself? I've noticed on my S2 and TivoHD that if I change a big music directory, I'll often get a "network access error" or something on the Tivo. Doesn't that maybe mean that the Tivo boxes won't wait if the Tivo server delays in responding?
