SD-DVR40 removing movies

Just checking if there is anything special to remove movies of the HD? I have the HD removed and thought I would check before I try!

Do you mean DELETING or do you mean COPYING to a different drive?

If you mean copying, it won't do you any good unless you have previous hacked the DTivo... since a stock unit will encrypt the files as they are created, so they will only play in the unit that made them

You want to remove the shows from the hard drive after it's removed from the TiVo, right? For what reason? Do you want to put it back into the TiVo?

Anyway, you could put it into a PC and reformat it. That'll wipe the whole thing.
