Used Tivo Desktop 2.6.1 to convert a file from the TIVO for play on an iPod Touch. It seemed to convert finde, and I had been using it to convert for a 5G iPod video just fine. I have it set for Apple iPod in the preferences.
The file synced over fine. I go to play on the iPod Touch, and it takes a second, then just pops back to the list of videos. Never plays.
Should I change the profile from Apple iPod to something else to get it to convert for a better format the Touch can play?

Can you play the show in iTunes or does it also quit at the same point?
I had an episode of "30 Rock" play for a bit then send me to the home screen or, worse, reboot the Touch. Since I had let iTunes apply an iPod software update the night before, I suspected the update routine. ITunes tries to swap out the OS without affecting the user's files, but that's asking for trouble.
Try removing the video from your iTunes library, syncing the Touch, adding the video back to the library, and resyncing the Touch. If that fails, try restoring the Touch, using the Restore button in iTunes. This wipes the Touch, applies the most recent Touch OS, and resyncs your library to it. It takes a while. After I did this a few months ago, I've had no trouble with any video file.

I use DVD Catalyst to automatically convert the TiVo files directly to perfect iPod Touch files. Never had a single video or audio problem with this program. This same program can also convert for my Zen or a PSP.
