I got Tivo Desktop 2.6.1 and set up some h.264 files I downloaded to transfer to the Tivo box. I don't know what time it started, but within 2 hours, the whole system started rebooting at any given time. And it would just continue to reboot, be it 10 minutes apart, 20 minutes apart, watching/recording a show, didn't matter.
I called Tivo support, and the lady told me to unplug and replug my tivo, then wait for it to reboot. I said I didn't know how long it would be, so she said to call back when it happened, and they'd have to replace my box.
I stopped the transfer on Tivo Desktop, and no reboots since.
Any ideas why these files would cause continous reboots? Only 1 of the 19 files got transfered. The history said the power was cut during the transfers.
The details:
Tivo 2 DT (with upgraded Hard Drive)
Tivo brand wireless adapter
Tivo Desktop Plus - (my friend had to get rid of his Tivo, so he sold me his plus key since he wasn't using it.
Videos:
Compression - H.264/AVC Dual Pass
Video Properties - 672x504 23.97fps FourCC Code: AVC1 DVDrips
Audio Properties - AAC-HE 48kHz 80 kb/s Stereo
