Looks like mind.tivo.com is offline again, or at least acting very unpredictably.
If I try to connect manually, it looks like mind.tivo.com is load balanced to several different servers. IE: connect to mind.tivo.com, and you're redirected to any of a number of other hostnames.
I have a feeling that one of the nodes in the web service cluster is misconfigured, and when transactions are load balanced to it, they fail. Hence the unpredictability of the problem. If the back-end people aren't testing connections through the load balancer, they won't see it.
In any case - great job, TiVo people. Webcast downloads through TDT have been made the most annoying they could be. I'm not resetting all my subscriptions again. I'm plugging the URL's into iTunes, letting it DL the vidcasts, and using watch directories to autotransfer.
