Every week or so, I have to go back and edit the list of 'channels you receive' because some of the channels that I have un-checked somehow start showing up again. It seems to be mostly the 400 series and other spanish speaking channels that get added back automatically. This is not good for me because I don't actually receive these channels and once they are 're-added' it takes longer to scroll through the guide. Some of the sports package channels also get re-added automatically also in this fashion.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? It is not anything new with the recent updates-- this has been happening now for several years, but it is getting annoying.

Thanks.
Mike

Its a guide issue. I wound up setting my channels via favorites.

Anybody know how to reset the Find Programs to only your favorites and/or received channels list. I know swivel search sort of has it but I am wondering about standard search. Swivel search doesnt let you narrow to titles and such.
I would like to be able find only the movies I actually subscribe too.

This is an ongoing problem with DirecTV- they've done this all five years I've had DirecTV service. Each time they change the channel lineup, you're likely to see channels readded to the list.

And no, there's no way to restrict searches to favorites - it does restrict to Channels You Receive. zalusky, what are you doing in this section?

They always add back the shopping channels and such. The best answer is to hack your units, use TivoWebPlus to make backups of your channel lists and reload them every month.

They intentionally drop and re-add channels to make them reappear in the CIR list. The receivers are designed to automatically add any new channels.

Guess what I don't get is what difference does it make if they reset the list? You folks still channel surf and watch *gulp* live TV with a Tivo?

Other than sporting events, I never watch live TV, it's all prerecorded stuff... ain't that the reason to own a Tivo?

If I create a wishlist and DirecTV adds back in some channel I do not want to record from then I get a bunch of recordings that waste my record space.

Or worse, you get a screen of saying "Call 800-DIRECTV to subscribe to this channel" instead of the show you really wanted.
