View Full Version : Issues upgrading Win 2000 - no Reg.exe

I downloaded the certificate update to my Windows 2000 SP4 machine. I then ran it according to instructions and it says:

'Reg' is not recognized as an internal or external command.

I looked around here and found a message saying that I needed to get the reg.exe from my XP box. Problem is I don't have an XP box. I have access to a 2003 server, but when I run the CMD file, that reg gives me:

The procedure entry point _resetstkoflw could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

So how do I update my 2.3a tivo desktop without buying an XP machine (which btw, would seem a little excessive)?

Thanks in advance!

Install 2.6.1 ...

Failing that, maybe reg.exe isn't in your path ... do a search and find where it lives.

Do you have the W2K install disk? Running \SUPPORT\TOOLS\SETUP.EXE will install the resource kit tools, including REG.EXE. You may have to copy it to your Windows directory to get it to run.
