Ive had my dual cablecard Tivo HD Series 3 (Comcast cablecard) tuner for just under a month with no problems once I got the cablecards working.
Tonight I came home and turned on my TV (Samsung FP-T5084 Plasma) and found the system "blinking" at me. It was giving a quick black flash at random.
Not only was the HD/SD tv pic doing this, but so was the Tivo GU interface. This led me to suspect a product-related issue.
I use an HDMI connection/Wireless router networking.
All the diagnostics seemed to be operating well as far as I could tell thru the diagnostic screens.
I Immediately tested another source on my set (PS3) and had no blinking/balnking issues as i monitored it for over an hour. I did not change HDMI ports.
This has led me to believe the Tivo product is suspect, being all of my other products are fuctioning perfectly.
As any educated engineer would, I restarted the system and haven't had any problems as described above for the past 3 hrs, whether watching live, or recorded programs or with the GUI.
Has anyone else experienced this type of issue? I lightly searched the forums and wasn't able to find anything explaining what I have just experienced. I appreciate any help or opinions you all can offer.
I owned a "series 2" for 3 yrs previously with the same cable company (BUT with no Cablecards), and just ditched my Comcast HDDVR for the series 3. I am familiar with the Tivo experience and am perplexed with the issue I experienced today.
Your knowledgeable responses are appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlie
PS this is a great forum. Glad I found it.
